It's Okay to Not Be Okay, A Gentle Guide to Mental Wellness

It's fine not to be fine

An Easy Mental Well-Being Guide:

Hey friend, something very important let's discuss. Life is sometimes not all sunshine and rainbows; it's quite natural. You don't need to be okay every day.

Sometimes we feel under pressure to always smile, to always be busy, to always have it all together. But here's the reality: we are humans not robots. Both good days and bad days are acceptable; we have both kinds of days.

Grasping Your Emotions:

Your feelings come and go like weather patterns. Feeling depressed, anxious, or overburdened does not indicate you have anything wrong with you. It means you're living life with all of its ups and downs.

Consider your brain as a garden. Sometimes beautiful flowers are flowering; sometimes there are weeds. One is a natural component of the garden. Learning how to gently care for it is essential.

Recall: Struggling does not make you weak. Requesting help does not weigh you down. Taking time to recover doesn't make you lazy.

Little movements are important:

Sometimes getting out of bed is your mountains, and that's fine; every little action adds up: Tomorrow you don't have to scale a mountain.

 Taking a glass of water

Taking a bath

Sending a text to a friend

Three quick breaths

These are acts of self-care when you're suffering, not just little stuff.

Deal with Yourself Gently:

Picture yourself conversing with a close friend going through difficulties. You wouldn't accuse them or advise them to simply get over it, would you? You would show compassion. Try to show yourself that same compassion.

Change With I'm doing my best right now, I should be better by now. Replacing Why am I behaving like this? with What do I require just right?

Asking for assistance is fine:

At times, we all need help. Speaking with a friend, family member, counselor, or therapist shows self-awareness and strength rather than weakness.

You need assistance. You deserve understanding. You are deserving of attention. And, most crucially, you ought to feel better.

Last Words

Healing is not straight. Some days you will feel excellent; other days you will regress. That all forms part of the trip. The main thing is that you go at your own speed in your own style.

Your bad days are not you. You are not your challenges. Even on the days when it doesn't feel like it, you are a whole, fully realized person who is deserving of love and pleasure.

Breathe deeply. You're doing better than you imagine. And keep in mind that it's all right to not be okay.
