Google's greatest smartwatch upgrade yet comes with Gemini artificial intelligence.
Google just rolled something unique. The Pixel Watch 4 has
arrived, and truthfully, it appears as though they have at last perfected what
people have been requesting since day one.
What is the change
now?
You first see the screen. Google went with a domed display
rather of the flat one we've seen before. Also 15% thinner than the previous
model, the bezels are smaller. Looking at your wrist reveals more screen to
view. And wow, it gets bright. At 3,000 nits bright, you can read the document
even when you are standing in full sunlight.
Two different sizes of the watch are now available. For
those with tiny wrists, there is a 41mm variant; if you desire anything
greater, the 45mm model is available. Both seem fairly good, and you may grab
either one with LTE if you prefer to leave your phone at home.
Actual Battery Life
That Works:
Here's the huge one. According to Google, the battery lasts
much longer now. The smaller 41mm watch runs for roughly 30 hours, while the
larger 45mm can stretch to 40 hours. That's with the screen always on. Activate
battery saving mode and you could get two or three days.
Those checking it out report going nearly two full days
without stressing about finding a charger. That's quite significant since the
older versions required charging every single night. Google also released a new
charging dock that fills the battery considerably more quickly than previously.
Gemini Arrives at
Your Wrist:
Here is where things become intriguing. Google incorporated
their Gemini artificial intelligence straight into the watch. Raising your
wrist and starting to speak to it is really possible. Have to send a text?
Gemini has some clever writing for you. Want to know what workout to do? It
will determine your movement patterns.
There is also this Personal AI Coach feature. It examines
your fitness results and sleeping patterns before offering you individualized,
sensible recommendations. Not only walk more things, but also actual strategies
tailored to what your body needs.
Emergency Satellite
SOS:
Most smartwatches lack something found here. If you are
trapped somewhere without cell service, the Pixel Watch 4 can connect to
satellites. Lost during a trek? Your watch can send an SOS message even when
your phone has none. The battery lives even longer up to 48 or 72 hours depending
on the size you chose when it switches to satellite mode.
Improved Tracking for
Everything:
Upgrading of the health sensors followed as well. Monitoring
of heart rate is more precise. The GPS today employs dual frequencies, hence it
precisely where you are during cycling or jogging. Google partnered with
fitness professionals to guarantee that all this information really has some
practical significance rather than being just numbers on a screen.
How Much It Costs:
Google held the price same as before. Starting at $349, the
41mm costs $399. Add another $100 if you wish the LTE version. Given all they
put in here, holding the price constant is rather welcome.
The True Question:
Thus, should you get it? Yes, probably if your Pixel Watch is old. It's a strong update only from its battery life. Coming from a different smartwatch or only looking to buy your first one, you should seriously think about the Pixel Watch 4.
Although it's not perfect some still
want the battery to last three or four days like other timepieces Google came
significantly closer to creating a smartwatch that simply runs without constant
baby sitting.
Starting October 9th, the watch goes on sale. Most phone and
technology merchants as well as Google's store offer this.
Google seems to have really listened this time. Better
screen, larger battery, more intelligent AI, and practical safety systems. It's
what the Pixel Watch should have been from the start, but hey, better late than
never.
