Oakley Meta HSTN The Future of Smart Eyewear

My True Perspective on Oakley Meta HSTN Smart Glasses

I have been examining these Oakley Meta HSTN glasses recently and wanted to share my opinions on them. My genuine ideas rather than sophisticated marketing jargon.

These things are what exactly?

Oakley basically worked with Meta to produce sunglasses that go beyond eye protection. They have built-in cameras, speakers, and all this technology gear, but they appear like standard Oakley Holston frames you know, that traditional athletic style.

The Chill Elements

Photographs sans Your Phone:

This is likely what I like most. The frame has a camera integrated within it, so snapping pictures just with voice commands or taps on the side is possible. It's fantastic when your hands are full, hiking, or cycling. The photographs are also rather good, good enough for Instagram or whatever but not too spectacular.

Music in Your Ear: (but not truly)

Though they sit close to your ears, the speakers never really go into them. I first found this odd, yet it is really wonderful. You can make phone calls or hear music, but you also can hear automobiles passing by or people conversing to you. When you're outdoors working things makes sense.

Speaking to Your Spectacles:

You may query them, transmit communications, all that. Sometimes it is excellent; sometimes it is somewhat perplexing. Still, if you need to reply someone while driving or running, it defeats reaching your phone.

Not Cool Sections

Battery Power:

Depending on your activity, they endure around 4–6 hours. For a day out, that's acceptable; however, if you're traveling long distance, you will have to charge them. Though they come with a charging case.

Pricing:

Let's face it, these cost some money. You're paying for all the technology inside as well as Oakley quality. Should you only need glasses, there are far more affordable alternatives.

Things for Privacy:

Some people act strangely when they see you with camera-equipped eyeglasses. Though still, there's a light indicating whether you're recording. Food for thought.

If you are someone who:

Do many outdoor activities?

Hates reaching for their phone every five minutes

Already favors Oakley eyewear

Desires to record events without a camera

Has access to some money for gear

If you simply sit at a desk all day or hardly ever get out, they probably aren't worthwhile.

Pricing:

These cost something, let's be honest. Oakley quality and the technology inside also cost you. If you only need glasses, there are far more affordable options.

Privacy Essentials:

Some people behave unusually when you have eyeglasses with camera technology on. Still, there's a light indicating if you're recording. Considerations on food.

Who should get these?

If you happen to be:

Many outdoor pursuits do you?

Hates reaching for their phone every five minutes.

already shows preference for Oakley glasses

Desires to capture events without a camera

Has access to some funding for gear

They are unlikely to be valuable if you mostly never leave or only sit at a desk all day.

My Below Line:

The Oakley Meta HSTN feels like the direction sunglasses are heading. They are not flawless, but for what they accomplish they are rather amazing. They seem regular and are built solidly like you would expect from Oakley; the tech actually works.

Are they absolutely required? No, not particularly. Are they both functional and delightful? Indeed, undoubtedly.

These are worth investigating if you have the money and like the idea of smart glasses that aren't dorky. With the battery life and cost, just be aware of what you're getting into.

That's my little contribution. If you can, try them on first in a store to observe how they feel. Each person is unique.
